This incident is resolved. Publishing is safe again.

What happened: A dashboard change deployed at 1:27 PM EDT caused published and previewed app configurations to omit the Shopify store integration. The mobile app requires that integration to start, so affected iOS and Android apps froze on the launch screen instead of loading. iOS App Clips launched but showed no products.

Who was affected: Merchants who published or previewed an app configuration between 1:27 PM and 6:24 PM EDT on Sep 8. The first affected publish went out at 2:18 PM EDT. Merchants who did not publish during that window were unaffected, and configurations already live on our CDN continued to serve normally.

Resolution: A fix was deployed at 6:24 PM EDT. We identified and republished every affected app, and verified each one on the CDN and on a physical device. Affected merchants also recover automatically on their next publish.

Next steps: We're adding validation that rejects an app configuration missing its Shopify store integration before it can be previewed or published, plus type-safety and end-to-end test coverage on the publish path so this class of error fails in CI rather than reaching production. A full post-mortem will follow.
